The Ottumwa Community School District’s band and orchestra programs are offering summer lessons to students. All lessons will be held in the Evans Middle School band and orchestra room.
The band will meet with students in grades 5-8 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from June 6-20. Lessons are scheduled at either 9-10 a.m. or 10:30-11:30 a.m., depending on student level.
The orchestra will meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from June 6-20. Current fifth grade students will meet from 12:00-1 p.m., current sixth and seventh graders will rehearse from 1-2 p.m., and students in grades 8-11 will rehearse from 2-3 p.m. Registration forms are available from each teacher or on the district’s website.
A final concert featuring band and orchestra participants will be performed on Wednesday, June 21 at 9:30 a.m. in the Evans Auditorium.
The cost for each summer session is $30 per student. Registration is due by June 1.
