Wrestling Club Seeks Participants

The Ottumwa Community School District’s wrestling club seeks youth in grades K-8 who are interested in learning about wrestling. The program is designed for both novice and more experienced wrestlers. Basic fundamentals will be the focus for the novice wrestlers while the advanced program is designed to develop skills for success in competition.

Two parent meetings will be held prior to the start of the practice season. The first meeting is on Tuesday, November 5 from 4-6 p.m. in the OHS wrestling room. Enter door #5 on Union Street and take the stairs down to the wrestling room. The second parent meeting will be on Thursday, November 14 at 6 p.m. outside the OHS wrestling room.
Practice will start on November 14. Novice wrestlers will practice on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. and advanced from 7-8:30 p.m. Practice will go through the AAU State Tournament in March.

Cost for participation is $30. For an additional $30, participants will receive a club t-shirt and entry into the Ottumwa Youth Wrestling Tournament on January 12.
