Fifth graders in Ottumwa Schools added archery to list of skills learned in physical education class this year. Each month, equipment was moved to a different elementary school for the two-week unit. The plan for next year is to start an elementary club in the fall and allow interested students to begin competing with students from area schools.
Teachers at Wilson got in on the learning as well. Several learned how to shoot the bows under the direction of Ryan Morgan, physical education teacher.
