Literature Night was from 6-7pm on March 31st. Literature Night gave parents/guardians an opportunity to see what literature time looks like in the classroom. Students showed their reading journal, reading centers, word sorts etc. Teachers also spoke with parents about what strategies they are working on in class and provided parents with resources to help their student at home. Readers Theater promotes fluency, helps readers learn to read aloud with expression and builds reading confidence while also increasing comprehension. Grades 1-2 focused on fairy tales and grades 3-5th focused on fractured fairy tales. Kindergarten students got a chance to create their own fairy tale book using fairy tale clip art!
