Skype Lesson Teaches Geography

Mrs. Demuth's class uses Skype for a geography lesson.

In conjunction with her geography unit, Mrs. Demuth contacted technology coach, Erin Adams, to set up a Mystery Skype with a class in the United States. Both classes did not know where each other were located and had to ask geographical questions to narrow it down and make a guess. Students asked many questions such as "Do you border Tennessee?" and "Does your state border the Pacific Ocean?"  Mrs. Demuth's class was the first to guess the state with the question, "Are you in Ohio?" They then had to guess the city. The class got it on the first try! The class was located in Columbus, Ohio.

The students in both classes then shared some interesting facts about the state they live in.The students were so engaged, had specific questions, and learned a lot about the geography of North America.
