Horace Mann Elementary is hosting a celebration on Tuesday, January 23 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the school. Door prizes, snacks and beverages will be available.
In past years, the PTA sponsored a Reflections contest, according to Horace Mann principal, Jody Williams. “This new event will be in lieu of Reflections,” Williams said. “It was a very supported endeavor.” Entries were completed both in the classroom and at home.
Students were asked to submit pieces of writing, art work, videos of dance or original music performances, or photography around the theme “Building Me a Future.” Students were challenged to think about their future after completing high school. Williams received 77 entries from students in grades K-5.
The submissions were judged, and will be displayed and celebrated during this event.
