Parents Learn About Math

Staff at Horace Mann created an opportunity for parents to come to school and experience the math curriculum with their children.

On Friday, December 13, parents arrived at school with their children and spent 30 minutes participating in math activities.  Teachers began the half hour sharing math strategies that are being implemented in the classroom to increase student comprehension and computation skills. Then the parents had the opportunity to get involved with their child in some of the math activities the students experience on a daily basis. By the end of the half hour, parents walked away with a greater understanding of what math instruction looks like at Horace Mann and some practical tips they can use at home to reinforce what their child is learning at school.Enter your content here.
