Two Ottumwa students will compete in the annual Invent Iowa competition on Monday, April 19. The event, hosted by the University of Iowa’s Belin-Blank Center, will be held virtually due to Covid 19.
Students in grades K-8 from across the state were invited to qualify for the competition through an online and mailed application process. Charles Smith, second grade, Eisenhower/homeschool and Carter Cruzen, second grade, Liberty, qualified for the event. Inventions will be adjudicated in the second round of the competition by a panel of judges to select inventions to advance to Invention Convention U.S. Nationals, held in May.
Best of luck to Charles and Carter at the State Invent Iowa Competition next week!
