Dear Douma Families:
Douma School is excited to offer full access to an onsite School Food Pantry for the 2019-20 school year. By collaborating with the Food Bank of Iowa, this pantry will be able to supply a large variety of items needed by many students and their families.
The food and items in the Douma pantry are available for all students. Students/families will be able to access on Tuesdays from 3:15-3:45 p.m. and Fridays from 1:00-1:30 p.m. providing school be in session on those days. We ask that the parent/guardian pick up the pantry food/items, as they are too heavy for the students to carry. When picking up the items, please start in the school office and you will be directed to the pantry location in the school.
A core group of items in the pantry are provided through a USDA program. These USDA staple items will offer a wider variety of wholesome, nutritious, food for the entire family. In order to provide a larger variety a “TEFAP” form needs signed, dated and returned to school. We highly encourage you sign this “TEFAP” form as this allows us to provide your student with the USDA items as well.
If you have any questions please call the school at 641-684-4668 and speak with Ms. Cindy Schlegel, Counselor. You may also email questions to [email protected]. We are looking forward to starting this food pantry for our school families!
