Three employees were nominated as Bulldogs of the Week for the the week of May 16. Congratulations to Mark Voelliger, Angela Burkland, and Lisa Schimmelpfennig.
Mark Voelliger - Born and raised in Ottumwa, Mark has taught Spanish at OHS for the past 13 years. A 2002 graduate of OHS, he still feels like a high schooler at heart. He loves when his students use their Spanish knowledge outside of the classroom. He loves OHS and doesn't plan to go anywhere else.
Angela Burkland - Angela has taught math in grades 6, 7, and 8 at Evans for the past 12 years. Currently an 8th grade teacher, she loves helping her students enjoy math. Her hope as a teacher is that her students learn to value math, realized the importance of math in their everyday life, and that they continue to be lifelong learners.
Lisa Schimmelpfenning - A third grade teacher at James for the past 28 years, Lisa has zero desire to live anywhere else! The OHS graduate loves teaching and helping her students grow their learning. She feels Ottumwa is a wonderful community with an amazing educational system that continues to grow. "Who wouldn't want to be part of that?"
