Program Encourages Summer Reading

The Ottumwa Public Library is offering a summer reading program, Read Beyond the Beaten Path, June 1-August 12. The program targets children ages 0-12 and teens ages 13-18. 

Students or parents can enroll in the program at ottumwapubliclibrary.beanstack.org or download the Beanstack app. Participants can also register in person at the library. Registration materials can be picked up at the library, including a reading log, lanyard, and registration badge. Students who read five hours receive a free book, and once participants have completed 10 hours, they will receive a Summer Reading prize bag, a second book to keep, and entry into the grand prize drawing.
