Only three spots remain for Camp Invention's Leaders-In-Training program.

Camp Invention will be coming back to Ottumwa this summer, hosted at Evans Middle School from June 20 through June 24. Students going into grades 7th, 8th, and 9th can participate in a week of hands-on fun as a Leader-In-Training this summer.

What is the LIT program?
The Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program enables your 7th through 9th grader to participate in Camp Invention in a whole new way. The LIT program is an opportunity for middle school students to gain real world experience on how to be a positive mentor and coach. LITs help to guide campers through their day-to-day activities and support Instructors in the classroom.  It’s still a week of creativity and hands on fun, but now there is leadership training and goal-setting skills built in.

Here are a few things your child will experience and gain as a Leaders-in-Training:

  • Work with experienced camp instructors to be a positive mentor and coach
  • Encourage and inspire children to push the limits of their imagination
  • Collaborate and ignite team spirit and fun
  • Receive program certification and an official recommendation letter
