Three OCSD staff members were nominated Bulldogs of the Week for the week of March 28. Congratulations to Jeremy Frueh, Whitney , and Whitney Reber.

Jeremy Frueh - Jeremy has always been a Bulldog and is a proud member of the class of 2000. He started his Ottumwa teaching career at the Alternative School and after four years, moved to OHS as a special education teacher and wrestling coach. He feels a tremendous responsibility to mold his students and he doesn't take that responsbility lightly, both in the classroom and on the wrestling mat. He loves being part of the OHS team and feels the entire staff contributes to the school's positive learning environment.

Whitney Van Buskirk - Whitney has been an English Language associate at Evans for the past seven years. She enjoys working with the students as well as the entire EL team. She hopes when students leave that they have more knowledge and grown in their English language.

Whitney Reber - Whitney is where she wants to be. After completing her degree she only applied for a teaching position in Ottumwa and doesn't want to teach anywhere else. She has taught elementary physical education for the past five years and is currently teaching at both Horace Mann and Eisenhower Elementary Schools. She loves how excited the students are when they come into the gym. She feels it is important to provide students choice and integrates that into her daily instruction, including whether class is indoors or outside. "I might have eight classes doing eight different things," she said. "I'm happy where I am."
