Several OHS students competed in the Regional Speech Contest at Tri-County High School in Thornburg. "We brought ten events and seven events advanced to the state competition," said Spensor Sones, speech coach. "While I would have loved to see every performer earn an I rating, I am still really proud of everyone for participating in the speech contest and the choices they made with their performances."
State speech competition will be held on March 12 at Grinnell High School.
Students earning Division I ratings who will advance to state include:

- Zack Warner in Radio News
- Lydia Roling in After Dinner Speaking
- Miles Hedgecock in Improvisational Acting
