The Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra presents Sizzling Strings on Saturday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John Auditorium on the Indian Hills Community College Ottumwa campus. The concert has an emphasis on young string players. Members of the Ottumwa High School orchestra will be seated side-by-side with the symphony members as they highlight and celebrate their support of school string programs
Performing with the orchestra under the direction of conductor and music director, Dr. William LaRue Jones, the young musicians will augment their side-by-side experience with the chance to accompany cellist OHS orchestra instructor, Henry Weberpal on his performance of Lament. Weberpal is the composer and soloist for this piece, and a regular member of the cello section.
Admission for this concert is by season ticket or can be purchased at the door for $25. Students are admitted free with student ID.
