Five OHS swimmers competed in the 2022 IHSAA State Swimming Championships February 11-12 in Iowa City. Qualifying events included:
200 Medley Relay: Nathan Calhoun, Ashton Gevock, Luis Garcia, Cameron Manary, alternate Cason Palm
100 Butterfly: Luis Garcia
100 Breastroke: Ashton Gevock
"We are so proud of what this team accomplished this season," said Cherie Langland, head coach. "It was a season of goals realized and ending with every swimmer's head held high!"
Highlights of the state meet included:
- Ashton Gevock improved on his qualifying time, achieving a new lifetime best of 1:01
- Luis Garcia swam his season best of 0:53 and was first Bulldog racer in this event at State since 2013.
- The Medley Relay cut time from their qualifying time and achieved impressive best splits!
