Three members of Bulldog nation were nominated as Bulldogs of the Week. Recipients include Dan Flugum, Yadira Kelderman, and Amibeth Chounlamany.
Dan Flugum is new to Ottumwa High School this year. As a special education teacher, he finds joy in watching his students learn and grow. He is impressed by the number of students who want to achieve more and hopes to help them strive to be the best they can be.
Yadira Kelderman has worked in the district for 23 years, first as an associate and then the past seven years as an English Language teacher at Evans Middle School. She strives to make learning a new language fun by experiencing the language first hand. She loves learning about new cultures as her students learn to speak English.
Amibeth Chounlamany is a curriculum instructional leader at Pickwick Early Childhood Center. She enjoys the collaboration both at the district and building level as she works along her colleagues to hone their knowledge and then apply it in the classroom. Pickwick is building a strong foundation for our young learners and she takes pride in being a part of that process.
