Three Ottumwa staff members were nominated as Bulldogs of the Week. Staff members include: Dennis Vasconez, Gwen Marcellus, and Sara Buller.
Vocal instructor, Dennis Vasconez, has been teaching at OHS for 19 years. His accomplishments include earning grand champion during show choir competition and more than a dozen students named to the All-State choir. He enjoys sharing his love of music with his students.
Gwen Marcellus teaches eighth grade art at Evans. The best thing about her job, according to this 21 year veteran, is her students. She feels art is important. Not only does it provide a break from CORE instruction but also teaches creativity, problem-solving, and working cooperatively.
The friendly voice answering the phone at Horace Mann is Sara Buller. A school secretary for the past seven years, she also served as an elementary school associate. She loves the district, Horace Mann, and the students and families she serves each day.
