Joni Nicholson

I have worked for the district for a total of 34 years in several capacities: 5th grade teacher at Douma, Title I reading specialist and most recently, librarian at Eisenhower, Horace Mann, James and Wilson.  My favorite extracurricular activity is the Bulldog Book Bowl that the librarians host for 5th grade students. We just completed our 19th year of Book Bowl which promotes quality literature, academic excellence and a love of reading.  Working in the district for three decades has allowed  me to see many initiatives put into place, but the one thing that has always been constant is the staff commitment to students.  I feel honored to have worked with so many talented and dedicated staff members who always put the needs of our students first.  I hold many fond memories of students that I have taught over the years. I will miss them all!

Words of advice:  "Life is like a book---some chapters are sad, some happy and some exciting.  But if you never turn the page, you will never know what the next chapter holds." (author unknown)
