Sandy Mottet
I have been in the Ottumwa School District for most of my life. I started at Eisenhower Elementary, attended Walsh Jr. High, and graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1978. I then attended and graduated from Ottumwa Heights College. After working various jobs in Ottumwa I landed at Tenco where I decided I needed to go back to school. I worked full-time and attended Buena Vista University, graduating in the spring of 1988. I began my teaching career in the fall of 1988 at Evans Middle School in the BD program. From there I went to Douma where I taught 4th grade for 13 years and 3rd grade 1 year before making the move back to Evans in 2003. I have been here ever since teaching 7th and 8th grade Social Studies.

This year I have worked as a Virtual Learning Lead Teacher and will complete my 33rd year in education in the spring of 2021. There have been many changes in education over the years but can’t imagine doing anything else. I have worked with many wonderful and talented educators and met many great families over the years. With this said I am looking forward to the next journey in my life and spending time with my family. Who knows I might even decide to “sub” if I run out of things to do!
