This week, five Ottumwa staff members were presented Employee of the Month awards. These staff members were nominated by a student, parent, or fellow staff member for continually going above and beyond for our students, staff, and families. Each received an Ottumwa gift bag from Superintendent Mike McGrory featuring a variety of OCSD promotional items.
The Employees of the Month for May include: Karla Bray, Human Resources administrative secretary; Stephanie Dostal, third grade teacher at Liberty; Riley Guest, Industrial Technology teacher at OHS; Alex Handling, associate at Douma, and Jenny Van Nest, third grade teacher at Eisenhower.
These staff members will be recognized by the Ottumwa Board of Education at our next meeting on Monday, May 24. The recognition will be done at the beginning of the meeting. Family members, co-workers, and community members are encouraged to attend to show their support and appreciation of these employees. “This year, we recognized 43 employees who go above and beyond for our students, each other, and our families,” said McGrory. “It is a privilege for me to be able to honor our outstanding employees each month.”
