District Device Return Procedures

Ottumwa Schools will be collecting computers, hotspots, and modems at the end of the school year. Please see the list below for specific information based on student grade and program:

  • K-5 Students:  Devices will be left in the classrooms on the last day of school. They will be inventoried, repaired, and updated during the summer. BVL students will need to return their devices at a drive-thru drop off event at Liberty Elementary on June 2 at either 8-10 a.m. or 3-6 p.m.
  • 6-8 Students:  Devices will be collected between May 27-June 1 from students. Devices will be inventoried, repaired, and updated during the summer. BVL  students can drop off their device at Evans Middle School main office between Tuesday, May 25 - Tuesday, June 1. Please make sure your student returns the device, charger, and bag.
  • 9-11 Students:  All students (including BVL) enrolled in the 2021-22 school year may keep their device over the summer. If a student is leaving the district, the device can be turned in at the Welcome Desk, located in the OHS cafeteria. Need repairs? Drop the device at the Welcome Desk.
  • All 12th grade Students:  Devices will be collected from Monday, May 24 - Thursday, May 27 at the OHS Help Desk/Welcome Desk. On May 26 and 27, a drop off location will also be available in the OHS cafeteria. Students who fail to return their device will be charged $350 for replacement.

Students who have either a Verizon hotspot or Mediacom modem will need to return the device by Tuesday, June 1 to the OHS Welcome Desk between 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Service to these devices will be terminated on June 1.
