Landon Allen
Landon Allen wants to be a part of Being The Best.
Allen began his duties as the district's new Director of Technology on July 1. For the past seven years, Allen has served as a technology director for school districts in Spencer, Iowa and southeast Kansas. He is a graduate of DeVry University in Kansas City with a BS in Network and Communication Administration. He is originally from Highland, Kansas.
Allen was searching for a district to be closer to his two children, who live in St. Louis. "When I started listening to the Be The Best campaign, it was pretty powerful and I wanted to be a part of that," Allen said. He was also impressed by the district's Career Campus program. "I watched the school board meeting where the first rendering of Career Campus was shown and remember thinking how much of an impact that would have on students. I wanted to part of that type of effort."
He has already been involved in two large projects, technology integration at Pickwick Early Childhood Center as well as the new Career Campus location. He is looking forward to making strong connections between technology and instruction. "Technology is a powerful tool," he said.His goal is to work with teachers and get them comfortable with the technology tools we provide. "At the end of the day, it is all about supporting the learning, infusing and embedding technology into almost every curricular area at all grade levels.
