Market on Main Update

Rendering of Market on Main

During yesterday's school board meeting, a rendering of the new interior of Market on Main was presented by the DLR Group.

“We knew the Market on Main idea was going to stay, so we started to think, ok, what's a modern-day market? What could that be? What should that be? And taking that idea of that modern-day market and all of the feedback from staff and students, we started to visualize what could that look like. And when you think about a market it's really just a series of spaces that can be changed, adapted, molded into the current need or current use of that exhibit.” said Andrew Van Leeuwen, an architect at DLR Group.

The goal of this expansion is to provide all OHS students with career or college-focused opportunities based on their skills, interests, and/or life goals. All students will benefit from the career technical education expansion, with a stronger emphasis on four-year planning and self-discovery.

The rendering will be brought before the Market on Main’s executive advisory board for input on Thursday. To learn more about the Market on Main’s transformation, check out the board meeting.
