A special election on Tuesday approved the request for a voter-approved Physical Plant & Equipment Levy (PPEL) by 66% of the district's voters.  The PPEL will generate approximately $1.14 million beginning in the 2021-22 school year and an estimated $12 million over the next 10 years. These funds will be used to support building maintenance and instructional technology purchases.

"I am excited that our voter-approved PPEL resolution was overwhelmingly approved yesterday," said Superintendent Mike McGrory. "I want to thank our community for supporting our schools by the passing of the PPEL. This levy will have a profound impact on our district and community for years to come."

While the ballot asked for approval of $1.34 per $1,000 valuation, community members will actually see their school tax reduce from $14.72 to $14.22, a $0.50 decline. According to John Berg, the district's Chief Financial Officer, the tax has not been this low since 2007.
