On Tuesday, Ottumwa residents will be asked to consider a voter-approved Physical Plant and Equipment Levy of $1.34/$1,000 of assessed valuation.
The Physical Plant and Equipment Levy or PPEL generates funds that can primarily be used to purchase or make improvements to school buildings and grounds or for technology. Ottumwa currently has a board approved PPEL that generated $278,000 this year, much less than our annual facility and technology needs.
Voting centers have been established for Ottumwa School District residents. Voters can vote at any location on March 2 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters need to bring their photo identification with them. Early voting is available at the Wapello County Courthouse, located at 101 W. Fourth St. Voting centers include:
- North Court Baptist Church – 1411 N. Court St.
- Great Prairie AEA – 2814 N. Court Road
- American Legion – 550 W. Main St.
- Wapello County Courthouse – 101 W. 4th St.
- Bridge View Center – 102 Church St.
- Davis Street Christian Church – 202 S. Davis St.
- Bible Baptist Church – 944 W. Williams St.
- Hickory Grove Church – 3929 U.S. Hwy 63
- IHCC – 525 Grandview Ave. - Advanced Technology Center (*Entrance 15)
