Dear Columbia Family,
As we transition into the second quarter of the school year, I want to take
a moment to reflect on the tremendous progress our students have made so far.
It’s inspiring to see their curiosity and excitement for learning as they
continue to grow each day. I am proud of the dedication shown by our teachers,
staff, and most importantly, your children, in making this year a success.
This quarter, we faced the additional challenge of hurricanes and boil water orders that impacted our community. I am incredibly proud of the resiliency demonstrated by our students, families, and staff during this time. Despite the interruptions, our students have returned to school with enthusiasm, and we are working hard to ensure they continue to thrive academically and emotionally.
We’ve used these experiences as teachable moments, helping students understand the importance of community support, adaptability, and perseverance. I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to you, the parents, for your patience and collaboration as we navigated through these difficulties together. Your support is invaluable, and it shows in the strength of our school community. We’ve used these experiences as teachable moments, helping students understand the importance of community support, adaptability, and perseverance.
As we approach the winter holidays, please keep an eye on our school calendar for school events and any schedule adjustments. Thanksgiving break will be from November 25-November 29 and the Winter break will be from December 23 - January 6, with school resuming on January 7. I hope you all have a restful and joyful holiday season.
Thank you again for your ongoing support. I look forward to another successful quarter of learning, growth, and celebration. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,
Katie Brinkman
PROUD Principal
