School Video Project
I hope you have seen the Kindergarten video that was created this past fall. It is right at the top of our school website. This project started at Leeds (the videographers are parents there) and has expanded to try and get the word out about all that is going on in our public schools.
The project will continue with a video about our whole school and some testimonials from teachers and parents. I sent other information and permission slips home last week. Call the school office if you did not receive this information. Kindergarten families did not get sent the permission slips, since we already have yours from the fall.
Here is some information from the videographers:

From Superintendent, Dr. John Provost:
Dear Caregivers,
We enter this budget season without knowing the outcome of the Proposition 2 1/2 override vote. As always, we will advocate for the high priority needs of our schools. Obviously, we would be able to address those needs more effectively with additional funding from the override. We will plan for either outcome by preparing multiple budget scenarios this year. As is always the case, we will solicit input from the faculty, staff, students, and community members to help us determine priorities for our budget planning. We invite you to share your thoughts by responding to this survey which is posted on the district website and available directly at this link.
Photos
This week’s photos show a kindergarten writer, first grade readers, an idea about how a first grader can be a good reader, some busy members of our Lego Robotics Club, and three photos that show the various seating/standing options for working in Mr. Y.’s 5th grade classroom. Also, we had a wonderful visit and workshop from fabulous author (and Ryan Road parent) Jarrett Krosoczka! It was another wonderful week and R.K. Finn Ryan Road School!
