PLTW – JFK Students Continue to Excel in STEM
JFK students continue to be recognized for their exceptional work using the STEM Project Lead the Way curriculum. In 2021, two 7th graders were recognized for their excellent work in the Robotics program. This year, the 8th grade App Creator curriculum also saw successes from our wonderful students.
Lucy Platte was awarded the Industry Recognized Winner award. She created an app in technology class and then had the courage to send it along to have someone in the computer programming field give her feedback. Out of all the applicants, Lucy’s app was recognized for her creativity.
At the end of the 10 week technology course, students are given the opportunity to take their newly honed skills and create an app from scratch. It is a time where they can test their computer programming skills, problem solve and be creative. It is not an easy task for those who want to spread their wings to see what they can accomplish. I thank Lucy and the other applicants for completing the additional step to send their apps for feedback.
