Part of the employment process requires you to complete a national background check. Northwest Allen County Schools has partnered with Safe Hiring Solutions, Inc. to provide Background Checks on prospective employees. Background Checks include a Criminal Background Check, State Child Protection Index Check, National Sex Offender Check, and Teacher License History Check (if applicable), on a pre-employment basis as required by Indiana law. Checks can be completed online (please click on the link below to initiate your background check for Northwest Allen County Schools).
Applicants will need to assemble important information prior to starting the Background Check process through Safe Hiring Solutions including:
- Social Security Number
- Teacher's License Number (s) and State(s) of Issue, if applicable
- Addresses, including County, of residence dating back to January 1, 1988, or your date of birth, whichever is most recent.
- Form of payment (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover)
Note: You will need a debit or credit card for payment during this process.
Once you submit this background check, you will receive 2 additional emails from Kidstraks (typically within 24-48 hours). This is for the Dept. of Child Services (DCS) portion of the check. One email will contain the link to complete the form, the other will have the password in it. This form will ask for your mailing addresses back until 1988. Please refer to the following guidelines when providing the addresses:
- If you lived in Indiana:
- Each county needs to be recorded, but the various addresses within that county can be lumped into that 1 entry.
- If you lived out of Indiana:
- Just the city, state, and the length of time in that city/state needs to be reported, regardless of how many addresses in that city/state.
Please monitor your email and junk/spam folder for these emails.
These links are time sensitive and will expire so we appreciate your prompt response and action in completing them. If the links expire, you may be required to start the process over...including the fees.
If any additional states appear on your background check, SafeHiring will email you for additional fees (if those states assess them) and provide you with directions on how to complete the DCS report for those states.
