• Summit Humanities

Ordinarily, Summit English/Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies (SS) are taught to a group of combined 6th/7th grade class. This year, however, due to scheduling constraints, our class is composed of all 7th grade students.

ELA and SS combine beautifully to form a Humanities block. This gives us the advantage of extended time for discussion or activities when needed and also promotes integration of learning. We can employ writing strategies while learning about history. We can read non-fiction articles or literary stories related to a period in history. This blending of content allows deeper, richer learning for our Summit students.
