6th-8th Grade Summit ELA

I am excited to continue working on the Summit team after experiencing the program as a student over a decade ago. This is my third year at Explorer, and — if including my tenure as a K-12 student — my sixteenth year in the Mukilteo School District!

I attended the University of Washington and Seattle Pacific University for my B.A. in English Literature before earning my Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education from Seattle Pacific University in 2016. I see education in general — and Summit in particular — as an opportunity for curiosity, inquiry, and innovation. Like Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus, I encourage my students to “Take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!”

When not teaching, I enjoy traveling, playing with my cat Marzipan, and coaching Cheer at Kamiak High School.
