Welcome Explorer students and family! My name is Julia Riordan and I have been teaching Physical Education and Health at Explorer Middle School since the Fall of 2014. I grew up in the Mukilteo School District and went to the University of Idaho playing volleyball for the Vandals. After graduating college, I returned home to complete my student teaching at Evergreen Middle School in the Everett School District, landed a long-term substitute position at Harbour Pointe Middle School, and then thankfully was offered a full time position to teach Physical Education here at Explorer. Since teaching here, I have worked with so many amazing students and colleagues. When I'm not teaching, I love to play volleyball, coach, train for half marathons with my two golden retrievers Benny and Sadie, cook, and be at home with my family raising our beautiful daughter Chloe with my husband Tom. Health and Fitness is so special to me and I love teaching kids how to be life long fitness participants!
