Attendance

  •

Parents/guardians must call or email our attendance clerk, Therese McNamara, to excuse an absence.

If you do not call or email, please send a written note to the Attendance Office to excuse the absence WITHIN TWO DAYS of the students' return to school.

    Excused absences include:

    • Illness
    • Family Emergencies
    • Medical/Dental Appointments
    • Religious Observances

Questions? See Mukilteo School Board policy #3122P for more details.

    LATE TO SCHOOL

When arriving late, the student MUST check in at the attendance desk in the office before going to class.  A note or phone call from the parent is required to excuse a tardy.

    EARLY DISMISSAL

If you know you need to pick up your student for an appointment, please choose one of these options:

    • Have your student bring in note before school to get an early dismissal pass.
    • Call (425) 366-5200 ahead of time, and we'll have your student waiting for you in office when you get here.
    • Send an email to our attendance clerk:  OVattendance@mukilteo.wednet.edu

All students must be signed out by a parent/guardian or approved emergency contact. Please bring your ID with you.

STUDENTS NOT FEELING WELL ON CAMPUS

Students should let their teachers know they are not feeling well. Teachers will give them a pass to go to the health room and check in with our nurse. Our nurse will contact the parents/guardians if student needs to be picked up.

    BUS PASSES

If your student is going home with a friend and will be riding their bus, they need to stop by the attendance office for a bus pass before school or during lunch. Students need to have a note with the date, student's name, friend's name, bus or route number if known, and parent signature.  Permission cannot be given over the phone, but emails can be sent to OVattendance@mukilteo.wednet.edu.

    PRE-ARRANGED ABSENCE

If your student will be absent for two or more days, fill out the pre-arranged absence form below and return to our attendance clerk.
