Mrs. Stacy Freeman

I will begin my twenty-second year of teaching this year, with the last 8 being here at Cherokee Bend. My first sixteen years in education were spent teaching various sixth grade subjects, then I spent three years as a fifth grade English Language Arts (ELA) teacher, and I have since moved back to teach 6th Grade ELA.  I earned a BS and MA in Elementary Education at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Before Cherokee Bend, I taught sixth grade history, language and reading at Clay-Chalkville Middle School (8 years) and sixth grade science and reading at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School (5 years).  I love Cherokee Bend so much...I moved my entire family here!  My daughters are students at MBHS, with Mary Cates (17) entering her Junior year, and Kinleigh (15), entering her Sophomore year. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband of almost twenty years, Ryan, and our girls.  I enjoy traveling, spending lazy days at the beach, shopping, exercising, reading, coaching cheerleading, and completing projects around my house. I love working at CBS and I am looking forward to a great year!
