Online Safety

Parent Involvement

"No web-filtering product is full proof or as impactful as a conversation between a student and their parent/guardian over Internet Safety and the expectations of behavior while online. "

In accordance with Board Policy 7540.03

"Parents are advised that a determined user may be able to gain access to services and/or resources on the Internet that the Board has not authorized for educational purposes.  In fact, it is impossible to guarantee students will not gain access through the Internet to information and communications that they and/or their parents may find inappropriate, offensive, objectionable or controversial.  Parents of minors are responsible for setting and conveying the standards that their children should follow when using the Internet."

Common Sense Education

Common Sense is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of all kids and families by providing them trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in the 21st century.

Digital citizenship will be especially important this fall as students across the country return to school in one form or another. Students will be on their devices, communicating, collaborating, and creating with digital tools more than ever before.

To address this, we've pulled together a collection of short digital citizenship activities that students can complete independently, or with parents or caregivers. All the videos and activities below emphasize the importance of digital citizenship as a foundation for digital learning.

Information and Data Privacy

As a district, we strive to be transparent in how we handle and manage your data, share what processes are in place to protect student/educator data, and provide resources for how you can protect your own data at home.

With the implementation of Google Workspace for Education (Google Accounts), the district relies on Google's commitment to products that help protect student and teacher privacy.  Google Workspace for Education provides a distinct Privacy and Security agreement that differs from personal Google accounts.  For more information, click on the resources provided below.
