Ryan Dupree
Ryan Dupree was a 2015 graduate and a member of the Bob Jones boys’ basketball team. Tragically, Ryan passed away at the young age of 24 but not before leaving an incredible legacy of love for Christ, family, his fiancée, basketball, and helping kids. While a student at Bob Jones, he was a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a member of the varsity basketball team. After his graduation from Bob Jones, Ryan pursued an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration and Management at Snead State Community College, and he captained the basketball team and earned recognition as an NJCAA Academic All-American. He subsequently obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Studies from Mississippi State University and later his Master's Degree in Business Administration at Belhaven, where he played basketball for one year and earned recognition as an ASC Academic All-Conference. He served as a coach for a year as he finished graduate school. During his summers, Ryan served as a youth coach in both Madison City and Starkville’s Parks and Rec departments. After finishing his studies, Ryan was hired as an Assistant Varsity Coach at Shorter University. While his time at Shorter University only lasted one month, Ryan made a tremendous impact on the players. Since Ryan’s passing, numerous individuals from every community he touched have shared the tremendous impact Ryan made on their lives. The RD3 Legacy Foundation Inc. was established to award scholarships to Bob Jones basketball players. This tradition has continued for the past two years, ensuring that Ryan's legacy of leading students to Christ through basketball lives on.
