Jackie Dukemineer
-
Jackie Dukemineer is a graduate of Butler High School. He attended Snead Community College and is a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Army National Guard. He is married to Dianna Dukemineer, and they have two children, Krista and Bill, both Bob Jones alumni. In 2012, Mr. Dukemineer retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
For over twenty-five years, Mr. Dukemineer volunteered in various ways to support Bob Jones High School. In the mid 1980s, he helped build the Bob Jones baseball and softball press box and concession stand. He helped maintain the fields for those sports, as well. He showed continued commitment to Bob Jones athletic programs by carrying chains during home football games, keeping official score for the baseball team, and serving as assistant golf coach.
He also transported instruments to football games for the haltime performances of the Bob Jones Patriot Band. Mr. Dukemineer was inducted into the Patriot Club in 1999. To this day, Mr. Dukemineer is found on the sidelines during Patriot football games showing his support for our players. Congratulations, Jackie Dukemineer.
Jennifer Voorhies Flanagan

A 2006 graduate of Bob Jones, Jennifer Voorhies Flanagan is the Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at James Clemens High School. Before taking that position, Mrs. Flanagan graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2010. As a high school student, Mrs. Flanagan was a Bob Jones Patriot Competition Cheerleader, a Homecoming maid, and a member of Beta Club, Student Goverment Association, and FCA.
For five years, Mrs. Flanagan taught English, coached basketball cheerleaders, sponosored Beta Club, the sophomore class, and organized a tutoring program for our athletes. She also served as content lead for sophomore teachers in the English department and was an active presenter and participant in professional development activities.
Mrs. Flanagan earned her master's in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014 and was nominated for Bob Jones Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Flanagan's greatest impact on Bob Jones is the relationships she developed with her students. She wanted them to feel welcomed every day when they walked into her classroom, and that same mindset continues in her new role as an administrator. She is the daughter of Laura Voorhies and the late Tom Voorhies, and she is married to 2006 graduated Michael Flanagan. Congratulations, Jennifer Voorhies Flanagan!
Jessye Gessner Gaines

Jessye Gessner Gaines is a 2006 graduate of Bob Jones High School. While at Bob Jones, she was co-captain of the varsity dance team. Active in fine arts, Mrs. Gaines was a member of the Bob Jones Concert Chorale, show choir, and All-State choir. She also performed in several spring musicals.
In 2010, Mrs. Gaines graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. She felt called to the teaching field and accepted a position at Bob Jones in August of 2010 and was instrumental in the development of the BJHS Engineering Academy. She completed her Alternative Baccalaureate-level Certification in Secondary Mathematics at Athens State University in 2013. Mrs. Gaines developed and still directs the BJHS Engineering 4 Tomorrow Internship program that provides internships for high school students with local engineering firms. Over 175 students have participated in this hands-on program in the last six years.
At Bob Jones, Mrs. Gaines founded and sponsors the Society of Women Engineers, the GreenPower USA Formula Racing Team and the National Technical Honor Society. She has served as an advisor for UA Huntsville Engineering Senior Design teams and organized Madison City’s first Electric Car Race “Mad City Race” for teams all over North Alabama. Mrs. Gaines was recently selected to speak at the Society of Women Engineers National Conference in Philadelphia, October 2016. Her students love her classes and have chosen her as their celebrity teacher on numerous occasions. Mrs. Gaines is the daughter of Mark and Mary Jo Gessner of Madison. She is married to 2006 graduate Luke Gaines, and they have two daughters, Kay and Glenne. Service to her local church and community are very important to her.

Bobby Jackson retired this past year after a forty-two year career in education. Thirty-three of those years were spent working in Madison City Schools, most recently as the Director of Transportation. Mr. Jackson holds degrees from St. Bernard College and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
During his tenure at Bob Jones, Mr. Jackson served as athletic director for twenty-three years, coaching every sport offered and expanding our athletic program by adding soccer and golf. He coached the Patriots baseball team to five Madison County titles and six area titles. Mr. Jackson was named Coach of the year in 1988, 1989, 1991, and 1993. Mr. Jackson has served on numerous committees and has held many state and national offices related to athletic directors. In 2003, the Alabama High School Athletic Association named him Athletic Director of the Year, and that same year, he received the State Award of Merit from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. Mr. Jackson is the son of the late Odis and Louise Jackson and is married to Gayle Jackson. Congratulations, Bobby Jackson.
Lieutenant Colonel Marc Jacobson

Lieutenant Colonel Marc Jacobson, United States Army (retired) graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering in 1977 and later earned a Master of Administrative Science degree from Johns Hopkins University. He retired in 2002 from the U.S. Army Aviation Branch after various active and reserve component assignments.
Lt. Col. Jacobson served on the Madison City Council from 1992 until 2004. As chair of the first school’s committee prior to the creation of Madison City Schools, he was a driving force behind its formation in 1998 and advancement in subsequent years as one of the best schools systems in the nation. October 2017 will mark the twentieth anniversary of this historic event.
Lt. Col. Jacobson is the Vice President for Programs as SAIC and enjoys a notable career providing program management and technical support to a number of projects and initiatives. He continues to serve in various civic organizations and activities. Lt. Col. Jacobson is the son of the late Fred and Gertrude Jacobson. He is married to Denise Jacobson, and they have three children, Adam, Amy, and Paige, who are all Bob Jones alumni. Congratulations, Lt. Col. Jacobson.
Allen Paseur

Allen Paseur is a 1968 graduate of New Hope High School where he excelled in football and was awarded All-County and All-State honors. He continued his football career at Jacksonville State University where he earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration.
Mr. Paseur was recognized for his accomplishments and was named to the All-Conference team in 1971 and the All-American team in 1972. He was one of two players voted unanimously to the All-NAIA district team; the other player was Walter Payton, a future NFL Hall of Fame inductee. In 1974, Mr. Paseur began his coaching career as head football coach of his alma mater, New Hope High School.
He joined the coaching staff of Bob Jones High School in 1979 and moved to the role of head coach in 1981. As head coach of the Patriots, he amassed a 34-9 record, coached the first Bob Jones team to win ten regular season games, and led the team to win numerous county and area championships. The Patriots made their first ever state playoff appearance in 1983 under his leadership. Mr. Paseur was inducted into the Huntsville-Madison County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010. In addition to his considerable accomplishments as a coach, his players appreciate the way he passed on a desire to excel, the importance of being selfless and disciplined, and the life lessons learned through playing football. Mr. Paseur was married to the late Deborah Certhin Paseur, and has two children, Andrea and Dustin. Congratulations, Allen Paseur.
Joe Ricky Sizemore

Joe Ricky Sizemore earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Athens State University after graduation from Butler High School. At Athens State, Mr. Sizemore was an All-Southern Sates baseball player two consecutive years piling up impressive statistics on the field.
Mr. Sizemore began his coaching career in 1975 at Hazel Green High School working with the junior varsity football and baseball programs. He accepted the varsity baseball coach’s position at Madison County High School in 1981. After only two tears, he led the varsity team to a county championship and was recognized as the Madison County Baseball Coach of the Year in 1983.
The following year, Mr. Sizemore joined the football coaching staff for the Bob Jones Patriots, and in 1985 was named head football coach. Under his leadership, the Patriots won the county and area championships in 1985, 1986, and 1987 tying the record for undefeated seasons. Mr. Sizemore was honored as Coach of the Year for all three seasons, as well. Stepping down from coaching, Mr. Sizemore enrolled in graduate school at Alabama A&M to pursue a master’s degree. In 1990, he became the assistant principal at Liberty Middle School. He has served in various administrative positions at Sparkman High School, Madison County High School, Worth County Georgian, Florence High School, and Marion County High School. Mr. Sizemore retired in 2013. He is married to Judy Shannon Sizemore, and they have two sons, Justin and Eric.
Brian Sparks

Brian Sparks in a1992 graduate of Bob Jones High School where he was named Senior Athlete of the Year, Mr. Bob Jones, and served as vice president of his senior class. Mr. Sparks was a letterman in football, basketball, and baseball. He attended Wallace State and Shelton State, where he played baseball, and also attended the University of Alabama. He resided in Homewood with his wife, Rebecca, and their children, Avary and Gavin.
Mr. Sparks works for the Daniel Corporation, a residential real estate firm, as IT, marketing and sales manager. His business accomplishments include serving the Birmingham Association of Realtors as its youngest president, being named “Top 40 Under 40” by the Birmingham Business Journal, and the 2013 Alabama Realtor of the year by the Alabama Association of Realtors. His is the current chairman of the Education Trustees of the Alabama Association of Realtors. He serves on several boards and uses his business and leadership skills to advance the work of his company. Mr. Sparks is active in his community supporting several agencies and local charities. He is an active member of his local church.
