The Lowell Joint School District is committed to serving all students.  This web page is created to support parents, guardians and child care providers in the Lowell Joint School District and surrounding neighborhoods with information relevant to early childhood development and kindergarten readiness skills.

 
Our Vision
To provide assistance and support to parents and guardians with foundational knowledge and skills to support the academic, social and emotional needs of young learners ranging from the ages of newborn to five years old.
 
Mission
To provide PROGRAMS that enhance the development of young children ranging from newborn to five years old.
 
To provide RESOURCES for parents, guardians and child care providers that promote the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and verbal development of young scholars.
 
Current Programs in Lowell Joint School District:
Learning Link
What is it: 
An interactive center for parents/guardians and their children newborn to five years old.  This space will be used for parents/guardians to bring their child and participate in fun, developmentally appropriate activities together.

Jordan Elementary, Room 14

When is it:
We are currently providing 6 week sessions throughout the 2023-2024 school year in order to provide as many opportunities for families to participate with their child/children at the Learning Link. Session dates are listed above along with registration for the most current session. There are limited spots available, so please complete the form and we will be in contact with you at least one week prior to the session beginning.  
 
Current Resources:
LJSD works collaboratively with many organizations to enhance our work with families and childcare providers in the district and surrounding communities with children ages newborn to five years old.
 
 
Ready 4K
Ready4K: Exciting news!  We've partnered with Ready4K to offer an evidence-based parenting curriculum to families at no cost to you.  You can receive text messages three times a week with fun facts and easy tips to help your children learn and grow.  Texts include links to resources as well as free events like the Virtual Family Fun Hour.

LJSD Young Essential Scholars (Y.E.S.) Newsletter: provides activities, resources and community events targeted for families and educators of children ages newborn to six.

First 5
First 5 Orange County Mission: We envision an Orange County in which all children reach their full potential.  The groundwork for this vision is set during a child's earliest years.  First 5 Orange County partners with many organizations working towards creating and maintaining an early childhood system that families experience as a seamless network of care.  For more information check out the Kid Builders Mobile Application on their website.
