Preschool Program
Overview
Our preschool program was created to provide an enriched environment for early-aged children, which benefits their intellectual, physical, emotional and social development. Classes are designed for children who turn 3 by September 1 of each year AND who are potty trained. Our programs are multi-age programs, with students ages 3-5 together in a classroom. Research shows that quality preschool programs reduce the need for remedial classes in subsequent grade levels. During the preschool years, children develop characteristics that will affect their lifelong love of learning. We offer fee-based and state-funded ("income and need" eligible qualifying program) programs throughout the school district.
Teaching Staff
Each classroom follows a 1:8 ratio (1 adult for every 8 children). Our teaching staff includes a site supervisor/lead teacher, a teacher, and an instructional aide.
Site Supervisors/Lead Teachers hold a Child Development Permit, which is the State of California Teaching Credential that is issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Curriculum
Our play based program follows the California Preschool Learning Foundations and the California Preschool Curriculum framework from the California Department of Education, Early Learning Division. The curriculum and professional support will provide children with an early childhood enriched program preparing them for Kindergarten. Preschool GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) strategies are also infused into our program.
