Welcome & Call to Order

Review and approval of April 20, 2022 Minutes

  • Unable to Vote, not enough memebers

Discussion/ Celberations: Graduation Rate and Presidential Scholar

  • Principal Guymon reported data identifying the predicted 2022 graduation rate range.
  • He also let the council know that since 2003, there have been 57 Presidential Scholars chosen from Utah, LHS has had 10.
    • Gary Zhan was chosen this year as a Presidential Scholar.
  • At the Senior Awards ceremony over 2.1 million dollars was awarded to LHS seniors in scholarships.

Disucssion: LHS Staffing

  • Principal Guymon reviewed the list of teachers resigning or retiring from LHS and why they are leaving.

Election Information for Y2022-202

  • Ten applications were received for next year, there were five seats available.
  • The council discussed amending the bylaws to allow all interested applicants the opportunity to serve.

Question/Concerns from Council Members

  • Council members are concerned with the reputation and standing Logan High has in the community and asked if there is a way to promote or publicize all the good things about our school. Principal Guymon is looking into that.
