• About Us

    Hopkins County Schools serves more than 6,200 students in kindergarten through 12th grade . The district has six elementary schools, three middle schools, one P-8 school, two high schools, a career and technology center, and two alternate schools. We also offer a blended KERA preschool/Head Start program. 

    Highlights

    • All-day kindergarten is offered in all elementary schools.
    • Hopkins County Central and Madisonville North Hopkins high schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
    • A variety of Advanced Placement courses are offered at the high schools. Both HCCHS and MNHHS are participants in the Advance Kentucky program, a statewide math and science initiative dedicated to boosting achievement.
    • The Career and Technology Center provides a state-of-the-art facility where high school students will focus on their career goals. The center offers programs in automotive technology, business, industrial manufacturing & energy management, health sciences, information technology and  Project Lead the Way (pre-engineering).
    • Hopkins County Schools Academy offers a way for high school students to finish their education in an alternate setting. The computer-based school is intended to reach students at risk of dropping out. 
    • School Counts!, a partnership involving the public schools, Madisonville Community College and local businesses/industries, offers $1,000 tuition support at MCC for four semesters to Hopkins County Central and Madisonville North Hopkins graduates who successfully complete the program.
    • School nurses are located in all of our elementary, middle and high schools through an agreement with the Hopkins County Health Department.
    • The online Parent Portal offers parents and guardians access to their children’s class schedules, assignments, attendance, grades and more.
    • Family Resource Youth Service Centers in each school work to remove nonacademic barriers to learning.
