Professional Development and Support
New staff members are assigned a mentor and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities including our New Teacher Academy, held before the start of the school year, and New Teacher Cohort meetings held. The district is also focused on providing teachers opportunities to attend educational conferences and workshops.
Professional Learning Community
The Hallsville School District takes pride in being a Professional Learning Community (PLC). Our school calendar allows for faculty PLC collaboration each month. Collaboration teams include grade levels, vertical, and content area. Teachers, specialists, and interventionists spend time reviewing and identifying essential learning outcomes, analyzing student work, and determining instructional strategies that best fit the needs of all our learners.
