We know navigating arrival and dismissal at our campuses can be challenging for families, especially at the beginning of the year. As a reminder, the main campus front lot is closed daily from 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. for bus arrival. In the afternoon, the front lot is closed from 3:20 p.m. - 3:50 p.m. for dismissal. With construction on main campus and at HPS, it is important that families and students are patient and follow the maps. There will be additional cars trying to navigate into the back parking lots.
Primary families can enter off of Highway 124 or off of North Street. All families dropping students off or picking up students should enter at the purple circle on the map and snake around to the main entrance. In an effort to ensure student safety as well as a streamlined process for arrival time, please utilize the entire sidewalk (from Preschool doors past the gym near the end of the parking lot) to unload car riders every morning. All cars must exit onto North Street so buses can still enter and exit the campus. Doors open at 7:45 a.m., and class begins at 8:10 a.m. HPS dismisses at 3:35 p.m.
Intermediate families dropping off or picking up students must enter from North Street heading east and turn right into the intermediate parking lot. There is no left turn into the intermediate lot. Please note that there is no stopping, standing, or parking on North Street or Wesley Ave. Doors open at 7:40 a.m., and class begins at 8:05 a.m. HIS dismisses at 3:30 p.m.
If your student walks to school, please remind them to use the sidewalks and cross where the crossing guards are located. Students should not cut through the parking lots of Little Indians Preschool.
Secondary families dropping off or picking up students can enter and exit the high school parking lot from Highway 124 and Ricketts Rd/North St. When entering or exiting, please do not block the bus lane in front of the main campus. Please use the entire area marked for student drop off. There should be 3-4 cars unloading at a time, and students can walk to the HHS or North Gym entrance. Doors open at 7:40 a.m., and class begins at 8:00 a.m. HMS and HHS dismiss at 3:30 p.m.
AG PARKING LOT: Students must enter from North Street heading east and turn right into the Ag/Intermediate parking lot. There is no left turn into the Ag/Intermediate lot. Please see the HIS map above.
If your student walks to school, please remind them to use the sidewalks and cross where the crossing guards are located. Students should not cut through the parking lots of Little Indians Preschool.

We are excited to welcome the Hallsville Historical Society for the second annual ringing of the Hallsville Grade School bell during the first week of school! The Hallsville Historical Society will be on main campus on the morning on August 22 beginning at 7:30 a.m. and will visit Hallsville Primary School Thursday morning.
The Hallsville Grade School bell was forged in 1886 and installed when the first public school in Hallsville was erected on land donated by Dr. Ben Austene in 1888, on the site where the community center now stands. Teachers rang the bell calling students to the Grade School for the start of another day of education. Countless numbers of Hallsville area youth began their education hearing the bell call. This bell resided in the belfry from when the school was built in 1888 until the school building was demolished in 1964. Today, the bell resides in the new Mercantile Building and is overseen by the Hallsville Historical Society.

The Hallsville School District is excited to announce the opening of a full-day preschool program in addition to our Early Childhood Special Education program at Hallsville Primary School! Each program is committed to creating a safe, caring, engaging classroom environment where your children learn at developmentally appropriate levels.
Full-Day Preschool
The full-day preschool program is designed to serve children at least 4 years old by July 31 and will be entering kindergarten within the following year. Children must qualify for the program based on a screening and evaluation process as well as meeting Free & Reduced Lunch Guidelines. The program has a limited enrollment of 15 students.
Early Childhood Special Education
The Early Childhood Special Education Program is a federal program designed to serve children ages 3-5 with significant developmental delays in at least one of the following areas: health, motor (fine and/or gross), social/emotional/behavioral, communication (speech and/or language), cognitive, and adaptive. Children must qualify for the program based on a screening and evaluation process. If the criteria are met, the team will place the child into the special education program and write an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
For more information and to complete the Hallsville Early Childhood Interest Form, please visit us online here. Completing the form alerts the Hallsville School District of your interest in our Early Childhood Programs. Someone will contact you within 7-10 days after completing the form to schedule a screening for your child.
