I'm so happy to be your child's first grade teacher. It's going to be an exciting year as we focus on reading and writing, along with hands-on approaches to math, social science, and science. My background as a reading intervention specialist will emphasis strengthening reading skills using various approaches to meet all learning needs. A new focus on environmental awareness will be added to my lessons as I feel this has become a growing need to teach children at an early age.
A little note about me... I've been teaching for eight years and, by far, first grade is my favorite! I'm married with three wonderful children and three dogs. I like to spend my free time with family and friends.
