Students must make plans regarding after school arrangements before coming to school. Students will not be allowed to call from the office to change plans so that they can go to a friend's house.
Bicycles, Skateboards, Scooters, etc. are to be ridden to and from school only. They are not to be ridden on school grounds. Please park and lock your bike, skateboard, scooter, etc. in the bike rack area.
Students are encouraged to wear a helmet while riding.
Rollerblades and wheeled shoes are not allowed at school.
It is recognized that there are valid reasons for students to have and use cell phones while not at school. To prevent disruptions and possible misuse, cell phones must be turned off and put away when students arrive at school. Phone calls during the day need to go through the school’s phone system or a personal device used in the office with the teacher's permission. Students who use a personal electronic device on campus and / or during school hours will have them confiscated and will be subject to disciplinary action. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen cell phones.
Parkway Intermediate School teaches students about Citizenship by focusing on a different character trait each quarter. Students will assess themselves based on a scoring rubric once a week. Teachers will score students every other week. Scores will be based on a four-point rubric (not a letter grade). Citizenship scores will not be calculated into a student's Grade Point Average (GPA). A student's score will affect their participation in field trips and other activities.
