• In third grade, we refine previously learned skills and lay the foundation for 4th grade and beyond.  This year we will:

    • Add and subtract within 1,000 to solve word problems, and round to check our work
    • Learn strategies for representing and solving multiplication
    • Learn strategies for representing and solving division, and seeing how multiplication and division are related
    • Study different quadrilaterals
    • Represent fractions as pictures and points on a number line
    • Identify equivalent fractions
    • Measure length, weight, and capacity
    • Tell time to the nearest minute and solve elapsed time problems
    • Graph data on picture and bar graphs
