• Third grade is FULL of learning in reading, writing, and language.  We will:

    • Read fiction and nonfiction to learn about the sea, space, immigration, and artists
    • Read picture books, chapter books, and articles independently to grow reading stamina
    • Write to show what think and what we've learned
    • Study good writing to improve our craft
    • Discuss our knowledge and opinions with partners, groups, and the whole class
    • Apply what we know about phonics and syllables to read and spell longer words
    • Learn vocabulary from what we read and from studying word parts (prefixes, suffixes, bases)
