  • Jan. 19 - DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) - Classes will begin today and will be held every Thursday at 8:40 - 9:40. This is a required course for Caldwell County fifth grade students. Students will be required to write a 5 paragraph essay to graduate from this program. A graduation ceremony will be held at Davenport in the spring.

    Jan. 20 - The last day to meet Accelerated Reading goals

    Jan. 23 - New Accelerated Reading goals will be set for the third nine-weeks period/ Make up for snow day - students will attend school on this day

    Jan. 30 - Report cards will be sent home. Please sign and return your child's report card. PBIS permission forms and Old Salem chaperone intent forms will be attached to the report card. Please return those forms to school with your child's report card.

    Feb. 3 - PBIS Reward Glow Party 1:40pm - 2:25pm

    Feb. 10 - Field trip fee of $10.60 for the "Freedom Train" play due today. Please let Mrs. Adams know if your child will need financial assistance for this activity.

    March 13 - Arts Extravaganza Day - The students will enjoy programming by local artists

    March 17 - Optional Planning day, no school for students

    April 17 - 21 - Spring Break

    May 26 - Science EOG

    May 29 - Holiday, no school

    May 31 - Reading EOG

    June 1 - Math EOG

    June 9 - Last day for students
