Mrs. Lisa R. Palmer
Welcome to CTE Principles of Family & Human Services and Food and Nutrition I! I am a graduate of Norfolk State University with a B.S. degree in Hotel/Restaurant/Institutional Management. I served 22 years in the United States Navy (USNR Ret.) as a Culinary Specialist. I owned a specialty boutique bakery, Saturday Morning Cakes, in Harrisburg, NC., where I specialized in Wedding & Sculpted Cakes.
I am looking forward to a GREAT semester in Principles of Family & Human Services. This course is an important class that will teach you skills that you will use for the rest of your life. We will explore core functions of the human services field; individual, family and community systems and life literacy skills for human development.
I am delighted to teach Foods and Nutrition I this semester! It is my desire to deliver the joy of cooking food, where it comes from and how it affects our bodies in a practical, fun and engaging medium. I hope that your participation in my class will spark an interest in the Foods and Nutrition profession.
